Website Hosting

We do all of our Website Hosting with Hostmonster.  Hosting companies will try and sell you on features that sound good but are unimportant.  We have dealt with many hosting companies in the past, and hands down, hostmonster is better in every way we can think of. 

These are the things you should consider when purchasing Hosting.

1. Support: You want real support with real people.  These guys are available 24/7 and even have quick access to live chat help.
2. Flexibility of the servers: It can be very troublesome to find that your hosting account is not compatible with a certain type of software.  We have not had that issue come up once with Hostmonster.
3. cPanel: This makes the administrative side of things very easy.
4. Reliability: Companies always talk about 99.9% uptime.  They all claim it but I have only found one that can deliver.  Even the expensive hosting accounts like Network Solutions have unacceptable downtime.
   
5. SSH access: You may not know what this is, but your programmer will thank you for having hosting with SSH access.
   
6. Price: I don't know about you, but $71/year for unlimited hosting is awesome!
   
7. Multiple Websites: If you plan on having more than one website, you don't have to get two hosting accounts.  You can assign multiple domains to one hosting account.  Each website is stored in a separate folder.
   
8. Linux Hosting: Unless you want all the problems that come with Windows hosting, you will never even consider having anything but Linux Hosting.
9. Speed: You may not realize how nice it is to have instantaneous access to your hosting account, unless you have experienced other providers like GoDaddy.  Hostmonster is a breath of fresh air.
